Toronto Coach Bus Rental for Large Groups

This is the biggest vehicle in our fleet. The full-size highway coach is what you book when the group is too large for the 27-passenger mini-coach, when the trip is long enough that people need a bathroom on board, or when the group has equipment, luggage, or technical needs that only a proper motor coach can handle.

A typical month includes a 48-person university hockey team heading from Toronto to a tournament in Boston with three days of road games. A 52-person corporate conference shuttle running continuous loops between a downtown Toronto hotel and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre across a 3-day event. A 46-person wedding moving the full guest list from a downtown hotel out to a Niagara-on-the-Lake winery for a Saturday ceremony. A 54-person tour group on a 4-day Niagara wine country itinerary with multiple stops, lunch breaks, and a return to the hotel each night. A 50-person Toronto to New York City charter for a long weekend, 8 hours each way, bathroom break stop in Syracuse.

We’ve been running highway coaches across the GTA since 2013. The cabin is built for long-distance comfort: reclining seats with high backs, climate control front and rear, reading lights and individual air vents at every seat, USB charging, overhead bins for carry-ons, and a proper luggage bay underneath that holds checked bags, sports equipment, conference gear, or musical instruments for the full group. The on-board AV system has multiple monitors and a microphone, which tour guides and corporate presenters actually use during multi-stop trips.

Every booking comes with a chauffeur. Platinum Rides has never been a self-drive operator. The drivers running this vehicle hold full commercial Class B licences with the air-brake endorsement, and have done every standard long-distance route we run: the 401 to Montreal, the cross-border crossings at Peace Bridge and Rainbow Bridge, the Pearson commercial vehicle staging areas, and the major venue loading docks in downtown Toronto. Flight monitoring is automatic on airport pickups. Multi-day bookings get a single driver assigned to the full trip, so the same person knows the group and the itinerary.

Pricing is flat-rate. $400 an hour with a 4-hour minimum inside the GTA. Out-of-town and cross-border trips are quoted per route. Multi-day bookings are quoted as a daily all-inclusive rate rather than hourly. No per-mile surcharges, no fuel additions, no zone charges.

How Groups Use the 56-Passenger Highway Coach

Corporate conference shuttles and large team travel

Corporate event transportation is the largest category on this vehicle. Most bookings are 40 to 56 colleagues moving together for a multi-day conference, an annual general meeting, a regional sales convention, or a large team off-site. Employee shuttle bookings for daily team transport between locations are also a steady weekly category. The standard scenarios: a 3-day continuous shuttle loop between a downtown Toronto hotel block and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre for the duration of a conference, an annual general meeting where 50 executives shuttle from a Bay Street office to a Muskoka resort for two days, a regional sales convention where 54 staff fly into Pearson and need transport to a hotel and then to a conference venue across multiple days, or a large team-building event at a Niagara winery.

Corporate accounts get billed flat-rate per day rather than hourly, and the chauffeur stays with the vehicle for the full booking. For multi-day conference shuttles, we coordinate hotel pickup timing, venue arrival schedules, and end-of-event return logistics directly with the corporate organiser. Holiday party season (November to January) and AGM season (May to June) fill up earliest. Book conference shuttles 6 to 8 weeks ahead during peak periods.

Sports team travel for university and professional teams

Sports team bookings are a steady year-round category. The 56-passenger handles university and college teams across Canada and into the US: hockey teams heading to OUA games, basketball teams heading to U Sports tournaments, football teams travelling for OUA Yates Cup games, and rugby and soccer teams across the season. Cross-border bookings include teams travelling to NCAA Division 1 games, junior hockey teams crossing to US tournaments, and amateur teams playing in Buffalo, Detroit, Cleveland, and across the Northeast US.

The luggage bay underneath holds full team equipment: hockey bags, helmets, gear cases, and team supplies. The AV system lets coaches review game tape during the drive. The bathroom on board means no extra stops on long road trips. Standard bookings include round-trip transportation for tournament weekends, single-day game-day transport, and multi-leg playoff travel.

Pearson airport shuttle and group airport transfers

Airport shuttle bookings on the 56-passenger handle the biggest group arrivals into Toronto. Standard scenarios: 48 international conference attendees landing at YYZ on a single flight and shuttling straight to a downtown hotel, a 52-person corporate team flying into Pearson for a multi-day trade show, a 50-person tour group arriving from Europe for a Niagara wine tour itinerary, or a destination wedding contingent flying in from Vancouver. Toronto Pearson (YYZ) is the standard pickup, with Billy Bishop (YTZ) and Hamilton International (YHM) also served. The dedicated luggage bay underneath holds checked bags for the full group, so nothing has to take up cabin space. Flight monitoring is automatic, so the driver is at the curb when the flight actually lands, not when it was scheduled.

Multi-day tours, Niagara wine tours, and sightseeing groups

Group tour bookings on the 56-passenger range from single-day Niagara Falls tours to multi-day itineraries across Ontario and into Quebec. Single-day tours cover Niagara Falls, Niagara-on-the-Lake winery circuits, and Toronto sightseeing for visiting tour groups. Multi-day tours include 4-day Niagara wine country itineraries with hotel changes, 5-day Ontario and Quebec circuits (Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City), and longer cross-border tours into the US.

For tour operators booking on our vehicle, the AV system handles route narration with the handheld microphone for the tour guide, the on-board bathroom keeps the itinerary on schedule, and the luggage bay accommodates checked bags for the full tour group across multi-day trips. We coordinate with tour operators on multi-stop itineraries, hotel pickup timing, restaurant and lunch stops, and timing around scheduled attractions.

Wedding guest shuttle for large guest lists

Wedding bookings on the 56-passenger handle the full guest list for larger weddings, typically 80+ guest weddings where the bus runs continuous loops between the hotel block and the venue, or where the entire guest list moves together between ceremony and reception. The vehicle is most useful for weddings where the ceremony and reception are at different venues, where the wedding is at a venue 1 to 2 hours from the downtown Toronto hotel block (Niagara-on-the-Lake, Muskoka, Prince Edward County), or for weddings with destination guests flying in and needing airport shuttle service.

Standard wedding venues we serve include Casa Loma, Liberty Grand, the ROM, Berkeley Church, Steam Whistle Brewery, Evergreen Brick Works, Hotel X Toronto, the Carlu, and every winery and inn across Niagara-on-the-Lake. We coordinate directly with wedding planners on pickup timing, ceremony arrival, cocktail hour, reception, and the late-night return to the hotel.

Intercity charter to Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec City, and beyond

For trips outside the GTA, this vehicle handles long-distance Ontario and Quebec routes with the cabin comfort to make the drive enjoyable. Ottawa is a 4-hour drive each way. Montreal is 6 hours. Quebec City is 9 hours, usually run as a multi-day with an overnight stop. Standard intercity bookings include corporate group travel, university trips, hockey games at the Canadian Tire Centre and Bell Centre, milestone celebrations, and multi-day group tours.

The bathroom on board means the trip runs without unscheduled stops, the AV system handles tour narration or corporate presentations during the drive, and the luggage bay holds checked bags for the full group across multi-day trips. Quoted flat-rate per route with no per-mile add-ons.

Cross-border charter to Buffalo, NYC, Detroit, and beyond

Cross-border bookings are a steady category on the 56-passenger. The standard routes:

  • Toronto to Buffalo (2 hours, Peace Bridge): Bills games, Sabres games, shopping trips, weekend group visits
  • Toronto to New York City (8 hours): weekend group trips, multi-day tours, corporate travel
  • Toronto to Detroit (4 hours, Detroit-Windsor Tunnel): Red Wings and Lions games, Michigan business travel, university sports trips
  • Toronto to Cleveland (5 hours): sporting events, weekend trips, corporate travel
  • Toronto to Boston (10 hours): NHL games, university sports tournaments, multi-day tours
  • Toronto to Washington DC (10 hours): student tours, multi-day group travel

The driver handles the border crossing logistics at Peace Bridge in Fort Erie or Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls, with group documentation pre-coordinated before departure. All passengers need valid passports or NEXUS cards. Flat-rate locked before departure with no zone surcharges and no toll add-ons.

School trips, student groups, and field trip transportation

Student group bookings are a steady year-round category on this vehicle. The 56-passenger is the right answer for high school field trips that need to leave the city, university and college class trips, sports team travel to away games and tournaments, multi-day educational tours, summer camp transportation, and youth group travel. Standard bookings include high-school field trips to Niagara Falls and Ottawa, university group trips to NCAA games in Buffalo or Detroit, junior hockey team runs to OUA road games, and school sports transport for OFSAA championships and provincial tournaments.

Schools and youth groups pick the 56-passenger over a standard yellow school bus when the trip is over 2 hours, when there is checked luggage or sports equipment to carry, or when the schedule needs the bathroom on board and reclining seats. Student bookings are quoted flat-rate per route. Team rates for university teams and amateur athletic clubs are available on request. Field trip bookings need to go in 6 to 12 weeks ahead during the peak May to June school season.

Event transportation for sports, concerts, and group outings

Sports runs are heaviest fall through spring. Scotiabank Arena for Maple Leafs and Raptors games, Rogers Centre for Blue Jays and stadium concerts, BMO Field for Toronto FC. Cross-border sports trips on this vehicle go to KeyBank Center (Sabres games), Highmark Stadium (Bills games), and Little Caesars Arena (Red Wings games). Concert bookings cover Budweiser Stage, History, Massey Hall, Roy Thomson Hall, and the Rebel Entertainment Complex.

Which Size Do You Need?

Four forward-facing sizes in our fleet. Pick the one that fits with a small margin for luggage and comfort:

  • 14-Passenger Mercedes Sprinter (10 to 14 guests): Premium executive shuttle for smaller groups
  • 23-Passenger Mini-Coach (18 to 23 guests): Forward-facing charter, from $250/hour
  • 27-Passenger Mini-Coach (22 to 27 guests): Forward-facing charter, from $275/hour
  • 56-Passenger Highway Coach (40 to 56 guests): Flagship full-size coach with bathroom, AV, and luggage bay. From $400/hour

The 56-passenger makes sense from about 35 to 40 guests up. Below that, the 27-passenger mini-coach is cheaper at $275/hour and handles the group comfortably. The 56 becomes the right answer when the group is too big for the 27, the trip is long enough to need a bathroom on board, or the booking requires the AV system, larger luggage bay, or commercial coach amenities.

GTA Service Coverage

Pickups cover the GTA, with regular runs from Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Oakville, Burlington, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Newmarket, Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa, Hamilton, Milton, and Stouffville.
